Prof Khalid Al-Shali

MBChB, Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Prof Khalid Al-Shali is currently a professor of internal medicine and endocrinology at the College of Medicine, King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. He has held this academic position since February 16, 2021. Additionally, he serves as the head of the Department of Natural Products and Alternative Medicine at the Faculty of Pharmacy in the same university, a position he held from July 2009 to February 2021.

Prof Al-Shali has an extensive background in the medical field. He has been a part-time consultant endocrinologist at the International Medical Center since February 2007. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada since August 2001 and a fellow of the American College of Physicians since July 2004. He was designated as a “Consultant in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology” by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties (SCHS) in November 2004.

Throughout his career, Prof Al-Shali has been actively involved in teaching and mentoring. He has served as a tutor for 6th-year medical students and as the program director for the SCFHS adult diabetes fellowship program at King Abdulaziz University Hospital since 2018. He has also been a member of the examination committee for the Saudi Council Health Specialties Endocrine fellowship program.

Prof Al-Shali has received several honors and awards, including an Overseas Scholarship Award for postgraduate medical training in Canada and a Certificate of Model Student in the College of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in internal medicine and endocrinology.

He has actively participated in medical conferences and has presented numerous lectures and oral presentations on various topics related to internal medicine and endocrinology.
