Dr. Cristian Guja MD, PhD Graduated Medical School in 1996 in Bucharest and subsequently trained in diabetes and metabolic diseases in the “NC Paulescu” National Institute for Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases in Bucharest. Between 1997-1998 and in 2003 he worked as a research fellow in field of diabetes genetics in the group of Prof. John Todd at the Wellcome Trust Center for Human Genetics (Oxford University) and the JDRF/Wellcome Trust Diabetes and Inflammation Laboratory.
He is member of EASD (European Association for the Study of Diabetes) from 1999 and member of the directory committee of the Romanian Society of Diabetes, Nutrition, and Metabolic Diseases (from 2006).
He is vice-president of the Society from 2012.
